On August 27, 2015,  Governor Wolf and Secretary of State Pedro Cortés announced Pennsylvania had joined the 22 other states and District of Columbia that currently allow eligible citizens to register to vote online.

Mr. Cortés stated online voter registration “makes the process more accessible and accurate” and could result in cost savings as well. A May 2015 report from the Pew Charitable Trusts showed that states utilizing online voter registration saw a per-application range of savings from $0.50 to $2.34.

On September 2, 2015, the Pennsylvania Department of State announced that over 5,000 people have registered to vote via the online system that went live on August 25th.   To utilize the online service, visit www.dos.pa.gov.
