York Rep. Todd Platts not chosen for White House Job

U.S. Rep. Todd Platts, R-York, is not getting the top Governmental Accountability Office job he applied for last year. The White House announced Tuesday that the President Barack Obama would nominate Gene L. Dodaro for the comptroller general post Platts was seeking. The position oversees the

Governmental Accountability Office, an independent, non-partisan group that serves as Congress’ investigative arm. Platts announced his intentions to apply for the position in November. The Hill, a Washington-based congressional newspaper, reported that Platts was on the selection committee’s short list of canidates to submitt to the president. Platts, who represents York and Adams counties and part of Cumberland County, will face Democratic candidate Ryan Sanders in the November election.
