A New Home on the Range

Range Resources, the first gas company to drill for natural gas in the Marcellus play, is expanding its presence. A company representative said on Monday that Range will build almost 300,000 square feet of office space in Canonsburg, about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh.

“The construction of our new regional headquarters facility signal’s Range’s commitment to responsibly grow out Marcellus operations. Our plan calls for a state-of-the-art “green” facility, designed to accommodate what is anticipated to be dramatic growth in our office staff, while incorporating the latest in energy-efficient technologies to help us minimize our environmental impact,” said, Ray Walker, Range Resources Senior Vice President.

However, Range Resources is not in too much of a hurry to hire people. The company says it will more than double its staff of about 225 to 500 workers, but that will happen over the next several years.
