In this edition of Rock The Capital Minute; The Tokoyo Electric Power Company says it will give all homeowners forced to evacuate $12,000. The head of Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board says if he has more time he can modernize and make state owned liquor stores a crown jewel of the state, and in Washington, Republicans intend to vote on a plan to trim $6 billion from President Obama’s proposed budget.

Japan’s Race to Cool Nuclear Fuel Rods

In what can truly be described as an all out effort, scientists and engineers in Japan are in a mad-dash to cool down fuel rods at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. An effort that started a couple of days ago was further complicated by a second explosion on Monday destroying an outer building to what is known as unit 3. 11 people were injured in that blast.
