Pennsylvania’s Auditor General Jack Wagner has come up with a plan to saving hundreds of millions of dollars. Wagner says the state could easily realize the savings if it reduced its prison population. Releasing nonviolent offenders will not only save on housing and food, but it will also mean not having to build more prisons now.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is having a change of heart about printing new toll tickets. The commission had been adamant about not doing it because of the expense of printing. The issue arose because toll fares are going up after the first of the new year.
